Ingredients of Green Bean Bredie
- It's 1 kg of lamb knuckles.
- It's 1 of brown onion diced.
- It's 500 g of green beans finely cut on the diagonal.
- Prepare 2 Tbsp of garlic and ginger.
- It's 1 Tbsp of coriander seeds crushed.
- It's 1 of green chilli finely chopped.
- It's 1 tsp of turmeric.
- You need 1 punnet of button mushrooms.
- Prepare 2 Tbsp of olive oil.
- Prepare 3 of potatoes cubed (omit for low carb).
- It's Dash of Worcestershire sauce.
Green Bean Bredie step by step
- Add oil to a large pot and heat on high.
- Brown meat in small batches and set aside.
- Add onions, spices, mushrooms, garlic and ginger and braise until fragrant (about 10 minutes).
- Return meat to the pot and mix well.
- Turn heat down to medium and braise for about an hour with the lid on.
- Add potatoes if using and greens beans and simmer for a further 30-40 minutes until the potatoes are done and the meat is deliciously tender.
- Season to taste with salt, pepper and a dash of Worcestershire sauce.
- Serve with choice of starch or cauli-rice, Enjoy!.
